The Department of Homeland Security’s Privacy Office has released its annual report for the period of July 2010 to June 2011. The report lists the office’s activities and accomplishments for the period, including international activities.
Under the project, nations will work to pool their efforts in the areas of cyber defence information sharing and cyber situational awareness, with a number of other nations expressing interest in joining the effort.
The goal of this paper is to set the landscape for cyber intelligence by discussing why it is necessary and providing thoughts on how to approach the development of this function in the cyber domain. While there is a great deal of focus on current cyber security issues, there is little focus on defining and exploring the cyber threat environment at a higher level.
